Environmental Project Lead
Navarro Research & Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for a Environmental Project Lead / Monticello Operations Lead in Monticello, UT.

Site Operations Lead for the Monticello, Utah, Disposal and Processing sites responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance activities at the Monticello CERCLA site. Day-to-day duties include operating and maintaining the active groundwater pump and treat system, operating and maintaining the 3 acre evaporation Pond 4, performing weekly and monthly site inspections, coordinating routine surface water and groundwater monitoring activities, maintaining roads, access, fencing and other infrastructure, planning, budgeting, scheduling and executing small construction projects, preparing work control documents, coordinating with the City of Monticello regarding the Vicinity Properties Program, and preparing and submitting written weekly reports to the Monticello Site Manager.
Other duties include:
Oversight of site personnel.
Oversight of project activities including subcontracted personnel.
Ensuring project safety, radiological control, and waste management requirements are properly supported and implemented.
Coordinating and utilizing support personnel when necessary.
Maintain the record books and checklists as required by the Long Term Surveillance and Maintenance (L TS&M) Plan.
Communicate professionally with citizens, stakeholders, site visitors, regulators, and officials associated with the City of Monticello.
Perform minor work tasks and wear the appropriate PPE for the task.
Maintain all assigned training current (RAD Worker II, Confined Space, etc.).
The Duty Work Station is located in Monticello, Utah.
Work hours begin at the site and end at the site; paid work does not include travel time to and from the site.
The employee will work a minimum of 40-hours per week/ 10-hrs per day.
Transportation to and from the site is the employee responsibility.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Environmental Science.
Minimum of 10 years experience managing environmental projects, construction projects and/or facility operations.
Prior project experience with uranium mill tailings, disposal cells, groundwater treatment operations, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) requirements, and experience on U.S. Department of Energy sites are desirable.
Candidate needs to have prior management experience supervising employees and subcontracted personnel.
The candidate needs to have a working knowledge of environmental compliance, OSHA compliance, and field experience with operating pumps, mechanical systems, electronic equipment, scientific instrumentation and a general knowledge of construction and heavy equipment.
Strong writing skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to develop strong client and team relationships are required.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
