Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for a Design Engineer in Grand Junction, CO.

Provide engineering services to support multiple projects at multiple LM sites.
Under general supervision, participates in planning, development, coordination, reviews, and assessments of designs for engineering projects, including basic organization of design team, concepts, format of calculations, selection of equipment standards, system design, and preparation of plans and specifications
Performs remedial investigations and feasibility studies to determine and outline projects.
Prepares drawings, cost estimates, and engineering texts.
Prepares and inspects plans.
Provides field support for ongoing construction activities
Assists in providing assessments of work scope, potential safety problems and special design considerations.
Assists in the preparations of estimates on phases of projects or proposals.
Maintains knowledge of safety policies and procedures and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
Participates in internal reviews.
Assists with several projects at one time.
Handles all changes and problems related to assigned project.
Acts as the engineering point of contact for both internal and external customers.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (if Mechanical Engineer, must have HVAC design experience).
1 to 5 years of experience (Internship experience may be substituted if it was in a design engineering environment / consulting engineering environment.
Must have experience in an experience in a design engineering environment / consulting engineering environment.
Engineer in Training Certification and ability to pursue future Professional Engineering registration.
Broad understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques with knowledge of environmental regulations and local utility codes. Applied knowledge and experience in earthwork, geotechnical, hydraulic, hydrology, and land development design is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with AutoCad and Civil 3D.
Plan and specification preparation experience.
Engineering calculation preparation.
Multi-tasking and time management.
Oral and written communication proficiency.
Self starting and results driven.
Technically proficient in area of expertise.
Attention to detail.
