Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for an Environmental Scientist in Monticello, UT.

Provide scientific expertise at the site and to help with the inspections and maintenance of the site.
Provide water sampling and measurements to maintain the site's data collection.
Learn and operate the site's SOARS system. This includes updating the site's instrumentation, telemetry, and maintaining the computer programs.
Assist the site's hydrologist in collecting data, writing reports, maintaining spread sheets, and notifications.
Help write procedures for the site. These procedures would encompass not only scientific procedures but al so site procedures.
Under the direction of the site's operations lead; help with the inspections and maintenance activities.
Maintain the instrumentation and monitor the functions of the Groundwater Remedy Optimization system. Take water measurements when applicable in Montezuma Creek.
Collect water samples and water levels in the area of attainment and for OU Ill.
Monitor the instrumentation, telemetry, and data for Pond 4.
Write reports and help the site's hydrologist.
Help the operations lead to inspect and maintain the site per the LTS&M Plan.
Help with the procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or any of the physical sciences.
Some practical experience is desired. Either in the work place or a strong internship.
Field experience supporting hydrologic studies, planning and conducting groundwater and surface water quality sampling and reporting, and interpreting geochemical and hydrological data.
Experience associated with operations of groundwater treatment systems, site characterization/investigations at hazardous waste sites, calibrating and operating scientific instruments and test meters, programming data logging and telemetry devices, under the site's hydrologist guidance, perform aquifer tests, writing procedures and work plans, and constructing computer models (Modflow, etc.) is desirable.
Strong writing skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to develop strong client and team relationships are required.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
Prior work in modeling and groundwater works is desirable. We do not need a biologist, ecologist, etc. We would like to have someone with 1-2 years field experience, but a good internship would also be acceptable. The experience should be working with wells, pumps, water data, sampling, those type of areas.
